When erosion becomes acute, rivers can look unsightly and cost of repair is increased. There are many preventative methods which EnviroAqua utilise to protect and restore river and Stillwater banks. Wherever possible we try to use soft techniques of bio-engineering such as hazel brushwood faggots and willow spilling (weaving). However, establishing dense healthy areas of marginal vegetation is often the first stage in lessening the impact of erosion.

EnviroAqua have had great success using bio-engineering techniques for repairing domestic property (gardens) lost due to running water courses being adjacent. Some situations however, may be best suited to slightly more heavily engineered (harder) methods such as a green oak revetment or in more extreme situations sheet pilling may be considered an option. River and Stillwater Bank erosion is a natural process where substrate is worn from the bank through wind or water action.
